Here it is: The 2015 "Out ov the Coffin" Halloween Special! Get ready, because I'm about to dump over 3 hours of Halloween-worshiping sounds into your treat bags, including full songs, movie trailers, dialogue samples, sound effects, backwards messages, and questionable choices in subject matter! Follow along with the fully-detailed playlist below, so you don't get lost, or just go along for the ride -- although, to be fair, there may be no survivors...

This year marks several great anniversaries in horror history-- including the 40th anniversary of "The Rocky Horror Picture Show," which receives a position of honor in the first set of this episode. Hitting the 30th anniversary mark this year are such classics as "The Return of the Living Dead," "Demons," and "Ghoulies," all of which receive nods on this episode as well, amidst a stream of current and classic graveyard hymns.

So, strap in (or strap somebody else in? See what happens?) and get ready for a gothic, deathrock, post-punk, darkwave, horror punk, and cryptic-metal salute to the greatest season of all, featuring many soundtrack selections, spooky noises, cinematic atmosphere, and a few odd shovel-fulls of necro-stalgia as well.

Just in time to kick off Halloweek, it's here! The biggest show of each year, the "Out ov the Coffin" Halloween Special, is back (from the graaaave) with a brand new face for 2014. Not sure whose face it is, but there was an awful lot of blood involved, and it clocks in at 4 FULL HOURS!!! Along with heaps of unburied seasonal classics and recently deceased newcomers, this episode features brand new music from Aurelio Voltaire, taken from Raised by Bats (his first actual goth/deathrock album); a brand new cut from Italy's modern deathrock champions, Horror Vacui, who will be releasing their Return of the Empire album just in time for their US tour this Halloween; and dark metal from Krieg's new Transient album & Sargeist's latest, Feeding the Crawling Shadows.

After three full hours of seasonal goth essentials, creeping soundtrack work, crippling movie trailers, severed horror quotes, and selections from the post-punk, deathrock, darkwave, industrial, and dark metal vaults, you'll be treated to a final BONUS set, reliving the height (or the depths?) of the '80s Heavy Metal Horror Movie age, when Satanic Panic led the masses to fantasize about being killed... by loud guys with tight pants and huge hair. Good evening, boils and ghouls! It's that most wonderful time of the year again: Halloween! And no Halloween would be complete without a brand new Out ov the Coffin Halloween Special to drop into everyone's treat bags. It's my favorite show to create, because it's thoroughly stuffed with layers of songs & sounds that combine to fog your mind with just the right atmosphere for the season, as seen through the lens of goth, deathrock, darkwave, horror culture, dark metal, and the bloodless face pressed cold against your window at night.

In addition to many current & classic seasonal tracks, movie trailers, and horror samples, you'll notice the arrival of many recently deceased musical offerings on this episode. Just in time for Halloween, the brothers Calabrese, known to many as "The World's Greatest Horror Rock Band," are back with a brand new album, entitled Born with a Scorpion's Touch. Although this album sees the band experimenting with other areas of the exploitation film section (leather rebels and renegade bikers), there is still some great horror business to be done, and you'll hear it here, tonight.

Since the last episode, I had the distinct pleasure of seeing the legendary Italian Horror Soundtrack masters, Goblin, live on stage for the first time in the USA. Needless to say, it was well worth the road trip, as they flawlessly rocked through a set riddled with the songs that put them on the horror map. Death Waltz Recording Company released a special Tour EP 2013 for the band, featuring new recordings of fan-favorites, as played by the current line-up -- which features 3 of the original members. You'll hear one of the updated versions on the way into this show.

Also new on this episode is your first taste of the band Rituaal, a new doom/black metal project featuring members of Father Befouled, Encoffination, Loss, and Mourner. Their self-titled, occult-obsessed debut 7" has just been released on Parasitic Records, and you'll step into that circle tonight. You'll also hear new experimental/dark ambient/noise tracks from Sewer Goddess and Wolvserpent, and even a special Halloween version of The Venture Bros. opening theme, updated for the season by J.G. Thirlwell.

And just when you thought it was safe to stop listening, you'll get a Bonus New Wave Halloween Set at the end -- a tribute to the intersection of '80s Horror films, and the synth rock atmosphere that made them stick.

So, kill the lights in favor of candles, skip dinner in favor of candy, and take a sharp blade to a pumpkin as you drift into more than 3 hours of sonic Halloween spirit.
