Dragon Con, Dragon Con, Dragon Con!!!
Welcome to my annual "Road to Dragon Con" special bonus podcast for 2015! First, I should note that this is not a traditional episode of the "Out ov the Coffin." The next regular episode should launch on September 18th, following a second bonus episode, the annual Compilation for the Dead. Busy month!
Second, a disclaimer: I am a volunteer for Dragon Con, on the Horror Track, but this podcast is in no way paid, official, or endorsed. I do this for fun, from one fan to many others, to give people something related and immersive to listen to on the way to the convention each year.
"So, what the hell is Dragon Con?" Dragon Con is an enormous Sci-Fi, Fantasy, Comic Book, Horror, Pop-Culture, Film, Television, Music, Art, and everything-else-that's-cool convention, held annually in Atlanta, Georgia over Labor Day Weekend (September 4th-7th this year). It's four full days of panels, parties, costuming, and concerts, and it never lets up for a minute.
This episode features sounds and songs entirely related-to and inspired-by this year's guests, fan panels, and bands that will be performing live -- including the latest music from performers Abney Park, Aurelio Voltaire, The Cruxshadows, Ego Likeness, Inertia, Rasputina, and This Way to the Egress, along with theme songs, dialogue, novelties, and related music from the shows, stars, and movies that will be covered this year, including Hannibal, Sleepy Hollow, Arrow, Battlestar Galactica, and many, many more.
On the playlist below, you will find not only the list of everything played on this podcast, you will also find my notes on where to catch each related guest or performer at the convention (in small print below each name) -- because I'm here to help. Of course, you'll want to check the Official Program Guide to pinpoint the exact locations and double check the times for these panels. Or, move into the 21st century and install the Dragon Con 2015 Smart Phone App HERE. It really does make life easier.
Now, some of you will know me as the Assistant Director of The Horror Track, so you will no doubt find a lot of information on what we're doing this year, with a slant towards the dark side, but I've made sure to highlight topics of personal interest from all across the convention's many offerings on this episode. That said, this is just a slice of what could never be contained in a simple podcast.
If this episode serves its purpose, it will turn you on to some attractions at Dragon Con that you might not have considered. Failing that, it should at least get you pumped up for what you already want to see. So, grab this episode and listen to it on the ride down, or stream it while you're packing up your costumes, and I'll see you at the Con!

Also: If you're wondering what panels I will be moderating this year, here's the list:
- Friday 1:00pm: "Hannibal: Aptitretare" [Augusta Ballroom, Westin]
The first of three Q&A panels about one of this decade's greatest television shows, "Hannibal." What's the future of the series? What was it like to bring such elegant horror to network television? Hear it from actors Scott Thompson (Jimmy Price) and Aaron Abrams (Brian Zeller). - Saturday 2:30pm: "The Year in Goth" [Peachtree 1-2, Westin]
The panel formerly known as "State of the Goth Scene," basically. Meet the bands that are performing this year and talk about the music, the scene, and life under the black umbrella. With members of The Cruxshadows, Ego Likeness, Inertia, and maybe a surprise guest or two. - Saturday 4:00pm: "Sleepy Hollow" [Augusta Ballroom, Westin]
We've joked about it for years, and now it's happening: Ichabod vs. Ichabod! Join me as I host a Q&A panel with Tom Mison (Ichabod Crane), Nicole Beharie (Abbie Mills), and the show's makeup artist Corey Castellano. - Sunday 2:30pm: "Sleepy Hollow" [Atrium Ballroom, Marriott]
One more chance to ask the stars of "Sleepy Hollow" all of your colonial horror questions. And another chance for me to crack bad Ichabod jokes with show-stars Tom Mison (Ichabod Crane) and Nicole Beharie (Abbie Mills).
Otherwise, you can find me hanging out a lot at The Horror Track. See our full list of panels for this year right here.
NOTE: The Horror Track is located in the Westin, with most panels taking place at our Headquarters in the Peachtree Room (aka Peachtree 1-2) on the 8th floor (two floors up from the entrance level; same room as last year); however, some of our panels will be held in larger rooms throughout the convention, such as the Westin's Peachtree and Augusta Ballrooms, or the larger halls in the Hyatt or Marriott. Always refresh the app for the latest updates, or grab a copy of The Daily Dragon each morning.
Okay! Ready to hear the show? Here's how:
