Sometimes, the space between two episodes feels quite brief. This time, however, so many things have taken place, and are about to take place, that the show is packed with spotlights, reflections, and memorials.

I had the great fortune of traveling to California this past weekend to play a concert. Along the way, I pondered how I might handle my traditional, annual tribute to Rozz Williams, as I would likely be in an airport on the anniversary of his death, unable to sensibly sport a Christian Death shirt without receiving a pat-down, let alone play a set of his music for anyone. Thanks to a local friend's advice, though, I was able to have a more meaningful experience than ever before, by actually visiting his memorial in person:

The Rozz Williams memorial at
The Hollywood Forever Cemetery
(April 1st, 2012)

Standing in front of the ashes of one your favorite artists, staring at this words and images on display, brings a new meaning to the term "paying your respects." In that moment, I left a small sum of my admiration upon the glass that shrouded his remains, and I've attempted to carry the feeling I had that morning into a tribute set on this episode. Rest in peace, Rozz.

Beyond that opening tribute set, this show features a lot of brand new music: You'll hear fresh Greek post-punk from We Came From Waters, whose new release Unfamous Quotes can be heard here. On the darkwave/ebm side, you'll hear a brand new song from our friends Ego Likeness, who contributed an exclusive track to the new Electronic Saviours II collection -- the second in a series of cancer-fighting benefit compilations, which will be released next month on Metropolis Records. It features 6 discs of exclusive and rare songs from many of the biggest and best names in the current industrial, ebm, and electronic music scene. Pre-order your copy here.

Also in the industrial realm, you'll hear 4 new offerings from the Alfa-Matrix label, including brand new tracks from Stray, Diskonnekted, and Freakangel, plus a new version of a Mentallo & the Fixer classic, from a soon-to-be-released rarities collection.

I throw the spotlight on a couple of events this time around: First, The Full Moon Tattoo & Horror Festival, which is happening this weekend (April 6 - 8) in Nashville, at the Downtown Convention Center. Guests include Kristin Bauer (True Blood), Ace Frehley (KISS), Norman Reedus (The Walking Dead), Ken Foree (Dawn of the Dead 1979), Tom Atkins (The Fog, Halloween III, Night of the Creeps), and many more. I chose much of the soundtrack music for this episode to celebrate their appearances in my home town. To see the full list of guests, go here.

Also coming up soon, in Nashville and around the country, is "CENSORED: A Hobo Cabaret," a tour featuring the talents of This Way to the Egress, Mister Joe Black, and Hellblinki -- all of whom have new songs featured on this episode, to better whet your appetites for the fancier side of macabre musical theatre. They'll be plowing through The Rutledge in Nashville on Thursday, April 12th. I'll be providing specially crafted DJ sets that night, too. Click here for details.

Speaking of live music, I had the pleasure of sharing a stage with some great bands in California this past weekend, two of which have new tracks featured on this episode: The soon-to-be-legendary Pallbearer, whose new album Sorrow & Extinction is winning people over left and right, and the mighty Yob, whose latest album, Atma, has just formally entered my collection. Coming soon to this podcast: Music from The Atlas Moth and Wolvhammer, who rounded out a great bill at Saturday's Profound Lore Records showcase.

All that, and even more current and classic dark music awaits you! Ready to hear the show?
